Individual Therapy
Individual therapy gives you a space to explore what is happening beneath your thoughts, emotions, and reactions. It is an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply without having to judge or immediately change what you find.
Together, we can explore how your experiences, beliefs, and learned ways of coping influence how you show up today. From that understanding, we can work toward new ways of navigating challenges that feel more intentional and supportive of the life you want.
You don’t have to get rid of parts of yourself to change
Some of the ways you cope today may have developed for a reason. Avoidance, the need for control, or familiar reactions may have helped you navigate difficult experiences in the past. Therapy can help you understand these parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion, while recognizing when they may no longer be helping you live the way you want.
How Individual Therapy Works
We start by understanding what brings you to therapy, what feels difficult right now, and what you hope will be different.
Together, we begin noticing the experiences, beliefs, emotions and learned responses that may be influencing you today.
We work with these patterns as they show up, practicing new ways of responding with greater awareness, acceptance, and self compassion.
Over time, the goal is to help you trust yourself more and use what you learn in therapy to navigate your life outside of our sessions.
Have any questions?
-
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult, and what you hope to get from our work together. You don’t have to share everything to start, we can move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
We can start with weekly or biweekly sessions, depending on what feels comfortable and manageable for you, including your needs, schedule, and finances. At times, more frequent support may be helpful depending on what you’re experincing, and we can adjust the frequency together as your needs change.
-
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you are looking for a space to better understand yourself, work through something that feels difficult, or make changes in the way you navigate your life, individual therapy may be a good place to start.
